Website Reviews

Real Irish websites.
Honest opinions.

We pick real Irish business websites — good, average, and genuinely bad — and break them down. Design, UX, mobile, speed, SEO basics. Plain language, no agency softening. The kind of critique you'd get if a web designer sat next to you and just told you what they saw.

What we look at in each review

Every review covers the same five areas so you can compare across sites and use reviews as a checklist for your own.

1

First impression

What does the homepage communicate in 5 seconds? Does it answer who this is for, what they do, and why it matters — or does it lead with a hero image of a handshake?

2

UX & navigation

Can a visitor find what they need without clicking more than twice? Mobile menu, page hierarchy, calls to action — does the site do its job or does it get in its own way?

3

Design & copy

Is it consistent, clear, and appropriate for the audience? We flag generic stock photography, buzzword-heavy copy, and the ten other things that quietly kill trust.

4

Mobile & speed

Over 60% of Irish web traffic is mobile. We test on a real device, not a browser resize. Load speed, tap targets, font sizes. The basics that still get missed.

5

Quick SEO scan

Title tags, headings, page descriptions, internal linking. Not a full technical audit — just the surface-level signals that tell you whether a site is being found at all.

Reviews

New reviews published regularly. We cover sectors across Ireland — hospitality, trades, retail, professional services, and anything else that catches our eye.

🔍

First reviews dropping soon

We're preparing the first batch of Irish website reviews. If you'd like your site reviewed (no charge, no obligation to work with us afterwards), send the URL to hello@themarketingpod.ie with the subject line "Review my site."

We publish a mix of submitted and self-selected sites. We don't guarantee publication, and we don't soften our verdicts for sites that approach us.

Nominate a site for review

We're happy to review any live Irish business website. Submit your own, or nominate a competitor, a brand you admire, or one you think is getting it badly wrong. We review sites in the order they're submitted, with no preference given to nominated vs. self-submitted.

Need a real redesign after reading a review?

The Marketing Pod is the editorial and content arm of Dublin web design studio Raven Design. If a review here makes you want to actually fix your site, that's where the work happens.
