What we are
The Marketing Pod is an independent Irish digital-marketing journal. We cover the topics small Irish businesses actually have to deal with — the Trading Online Voucher (and now its eTOV successor), web design commissioning, SEO, content marketing, UX — in plain language, with no agency sales pitch attached.
Honest history
The themarketingpod.ie domain has had two earlier lives. From 2010 to about 2021 it operated as a Dublin web-design and digital-marketing agency under the same trading name. After that the domain went through a period of being repurposed for unrelated content (referenced here for honesty, not detail). The current editorial site is a 2026 reboot under new ownership — same trading name, fresh editorial, new principles.
We don't claim continuity with the original agency or its client work, and we don't republish their case studies. The brand reuse is honest: the name is on the domain, the topic area is the same, and the new editorial team is upfront about being a reboot rather than a resurrection.
Editorial partnership with digitaldesign.ie
The Marketing Pod has an editorial partnership with digitaldesign.ie, an independent Dublin web design studio. The partnership means: where we recommend a service or a studio for hands-on client work, we recommend them by name; where we write about web design or commissioning practices, we draw on their working knowledge of the Dublin SMB market.
It does not mean digitaldesign.ie pays us, sets editorial direction, or sees content before it's published. We're a journal recommending a studio we trust — not a marketing channel for them.
What we won't do
- Take on client work directly. We're a journal. For real engagements: digitaldesign.ie or another Irish studio of your choosing.
- Run sponsored content as editorial. No paid placements. No "in-association-with" articles. Affiliate links to non-partner products are also out — see disclosure.
- Pretend to be the original team. The original Marketing Pod agency operated under different ownership and an editorial brand-reuse honest line is in our footer.
- Recycle the agency-era client list. We don't claim work we didn't do.
What we will do
- Update articles when government grant rules change (TOV → eTOV transition is the obvious example).
- Cite our sources and the dates we last verified them.
- Correct factual errors within seven days of being notified.
- Recommend digitaldesign.ie when it's the right fit, and recommend other studios when it isn't.
